With the highly anticipated Olympics just around the corner, and as a huge fan of volleyball, swimming and gymnastics, I can't wait to watch the best athletes in the world compete. Also, I am highly curious how the new breakdancing category will go. I am kicking off my favorite every four-year event with an Olympic viewing party and elevating the experience with Rancho Roble wine. As a lover of new experiences and learning about different cultures, I put together a short guide to pairing Rancho Roble wines with popular Olympic snacks and dishes from around the world. Enjoy!
Gold Medal Wine: The 'Reunion Red Blend' and Margherita Pizza

Wine: The Reunion, Red Blend
Description: Uniting Sangiovese and Barbera, this light and fruit-forward wine features notes of cherry, plum, and a hint of clove. SF Chronicle Gold Medal.
Pairing Note: The simple yet delicious flavors of a Margherita pizza are enhanced by the fruit-forward notes of The Reunion Red Blend. The wine’s hints of cherry and plum complement the tomato's acidity, while the subtle clove adds an intriguing depth to the fresh basil and creamy cheese. Make your own or get one delivered from our friends at Old Town Pizza. Samosas and Sauvignon Blanc

Wine: Sauvignon Blanc
Description: Bright acidity, and tropical fruit flavors. A customer favorite. Limited production.
Pairing Note: The aromatic spices of samosas find a perfect companion in our Sauvignon Blanc. The wine’s citrus flavors and herbal undertones enhance the savory, spiced filling of the samosas.
Rosé di Barbera and Shrimp Tacos

Wine: Rosé di Barbera
Description: Delicate pink, aromatic, and dry. Direct to press- Structured Rosé wine. Floral aroma and strawberry and citrus.
Pairing Note: The bright and aromatic profile of Rosé di Barbera is a delightful match for the zesty flavors of shrimp tacos. The crisp, citrusy notes of the wine perfectly complement the tangy lime and fresh cilantro in the tacos, while its delicate strawberry undertones enhance the sweetness of the shrimp.
Chardonnay and Sushi

Wine: Rancho Roble Chardonnay
Description: Light-bodied, crisp & refreshing. Barreled in stainless steel with notes of apple and peach.
Pairing Note: The light, fresh flavors of sushi are a fantastic match for our crisp Chardonnay. Whether it's a vibrant Rainbow Roll, delicate Nigiri, or a spicy Tuna Roll, the wine’s subtle notes of citrus and green apple enhance the delicate taste of fresh sushi. The bright acidity of the Chardonnay perfectly balances the umami-rich fish.
Silver Medal Wine: The Friendship Barbera and Rasta Pasta

Wine: The Friendship Barbera.
Description: Fruit forward, light, with hints of plum. Sourced from the estate's 20+ year old vineyard and Lodi. Your go-to summer red wine.
Pairing Note: The rich, flavors of this creamy pasta tossed with jerk chicken and bell peppers are beautifully complemented by The Friendship Barbera. Its fruit-forward profile enhances the savory and spicy flavors of the meat, while plum add sweetness to the pairing. Enjoy Rasta pasta this Saturday at the winery with Mary’s Mobile Kitchen visiting Rancho from 11:30-4:30pm. Check them out on Instagram here.
